POLICIES and ANSWERS to Most Frequently Asked Questions!

We are Now Offering the Option of First Class Mail for US Orders of Trading Cards, Shoe Charms, Italian Charms and anything else that will fit in a SMALL Manila bubble-envelope.  On the Shopping Cart, Look for "Shipping Options".  IF you choose First Class Mail for any other item that should not go in a padded bubble envelope, we are NOT responsible for any damage during mailing!

When filling out your information on the Shopping Cart, PLEASE double-check your Credit Card Information!  Be sure the Billing Name and Address info is exactly as it appears on your Credit Card Statement!  Orders with address information that doesn't match cannot be processed! Also, please be sure your EMAIL ADDRESS is typed in correctly!  If you DON'T get a copy of your order by email, that means your email address was typed in incorrectly - please email us if you haven't received a copy of your order within an hour of placing the order!  AND please READ the Shopping Cart fields carefully when entering your address!!  After you enter your city and state, it is asking you for your COUNTRY, NOT your COUNTY!!  This throws off the processing of your order, so PLEASE be sure you put your country!  If you are in the United States, please enter as US.

**We accept PayPal on our Shopping Cart as a Payment Option!**     

After you place your order you will get an automated confirmation that your order has gone through successfully - if you don't receive that, it means your email address was NOT entered properly - please email us if you DO NOT receive this automated response shortly after you place your order.  

NEED AN ORDER BY A CERTAIN DATE:  Let us know if you need an order by a certain date, and we will let you know if we can get it out in time.  We usually ship orders out in 3-5 Business Days from the time of order.  PLEASE email us separately if you need something by a certain date, so we will be sure to see it, and ALSO please tell us if you want something shipped Express Mail, and be sure to choose Express Mail for your Shipping Method during your Check Out Process!

MERCHANDISE CONDITION:   All items are new and unused unless otherwise noted.

PHONE ORDERS:   We only take online orders through our website.  (You can pay Online by credit card or PayPal, or MAIL in a check, money order or your credit card info using the Shopping Cart, see below for Payment Options).  Our shopping cart utilizes the most up-to-date technology and is guaranteed 100% secure to place your order with credit card or personal information needed to process your order.  Paying online with a credit card is the safest way known to place an order as it goes through SSL (Secure Socket Layers).  Your information is never on one server at one time.  All emails will have your credit card information deleted for added security. 

PAYMENT OPTIONS:   We accept MasterCard, VISA, American Express, Discover, PayPal, Personal Checks and Money Orders, either Online or Mail -in.  The Shopping Cart is set up for either option.  When you add the first item to your Shopping Cart, it will give you different options for payment, including mailing in either your credit card info, or a check or money order.  We do not ship COD. Sending a check may delay shipping up to 10 days while it clears.  Checks and Money Orders are expected to be received within 7 business days unless other arrangements have been approved by The Sylvan Lane Shoppe.  If payment is not received within that time period, items will be put back into inventory and the order will be voided.

SHIPPING/HANDLING:  MOST U.S. orders are shipped US Postal Service Priority Mail (2-3 days) with Delivery Confirmation (+ .75), and are usually shipped within three to five business days after receiving payment.  The Shopping Cart is set up to automatically calculate Domestic U.S. shipping charges directly from the Post Office's rate chart.  The Handling Charge of 75˘ is actually the Delivery Confirmation Charge, NOT a Handling Fee.   You can now choose First Class Mail (See Special Limitations below), Priority Mail (2-3 Days) or Express (Overnight to most cities, 2nd day to all others).  PLEASE send us a separate email if you need an order by a certain date, and we will let you know if we can get it out in time.  Sorry we do not ship COD, UPS or FedEx.

FIRST CLASS MAIL:  Special Limitations:  First Class Mail is available for Orders of Trading Cards, Shoe Charms, Italian Charms and anything else that will fit in a SMALL Manila bubble-envelope.  On the Shopping Cart, Look for "Shipping Options".  IF you choose First Class Mail for any other item that should not go in a padded bubble envelope, we are NOT responsible for any damage during mailing.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING CHARGES:  The charge is based on the weight of the package, and is calculated automatically by the Rate Charts at the Postal Service Web Site.   

SPECIAL UPDATE OF POLICY CONCERNING ANY TRADING CARDS SOLD ON OUR WEBSITE:  Unusually high demands may deplete our stock of Trading Cards before we are able to take down the Order Button.  If this occurs, we will advise you by email if you ordered only one card, or if you've ordered multiple cards we will make note of any out of stock cards on your receipt.  We do not backorder any Trading Cards, and Returns are NOT ACCEPTED providing the cards that were mailed to you are cards that appear on your order, and not cards that you did NOT order that were sent due to our error.  If you have any questions about this policy please EMAIL US BEFORE you order!

SALES TAX:   Because of our store location, we are required by law to collect 5.00% sales tax on the merchandise total for shipments to MA.  
Out of USA orders:  All foreign countries outside of the USA may have a "customs" or VAT tax applied to their order by your country.  We have no control over each countries "customs" taxes, and they vary from country to country.

RETURNED CHECKS:   Checks returned due to insufficient funds will be subject to a $30.00 charge. Checks which have been sent to collection will be subject to a $75.00 fee plus reasonable attorney's fees in addition to the amount of the check.

RETURNS and CANCELLATIONS:   

OUR RETURN POLICY:  If you receive a wrong item that was due to our error or the item was damaged in shipment please contact us immediately and we will pay for the return of product to our location and also pay for reshipping the correct or replacement item back to your location.  Please let us know within 7 days of any shipment errors or damage.  Although we strive for 100% correctness in all orders, mistakes on rare occasions may occur.

7 Day Return Policy:  Returns will be at The Sylvan Lane Shoppe's discretion if your order was shipped per your instructions and not due to our error.   PLEASE NOTE:  If some of the items that you ordered are out of stock but you still received the rest of your order, this does NOT mean your order was not shipped per your instruction!  We consider the items that appear on your order form that WERE shipped to you to be a complete order as per your instruction.  It is NOT considered OUR error as long as what was shipped to you was on your order form.  There seems to be some confusion of this policy so please if you have any questions, EMAIL US BEFORE you order!  A 10% restocking fee will be charged on orders that we have authorized as eligible for being returned after being shipped. After an order has been shipped, we cannot refund shipping charges or return shipping charges. All items must be in their original, un-opened packaging.  For example, action figures must still be on their card with the plastic packaging unopened and intact.  Upon return of the item to our stock we will issue you a store credit or a refund.  Please contact us for proper shipping instructions for returned items.  Any unauthorized returns will not be accepted.

SPECIAL NOTE:  We cannot accept ANY food product return (ie: Bertie Botts Jelly Beans, Chocolate Frogs etc.) 

BACK ORDERS:   Unusually high demands may deplete our stock.  If this occurs, we will advise you by email (if the item out of stock was the only item you ordered), or we will make note of it on your receipt if other items that are in stock were also ordered.  We do not backorder any items.

SHIPPING DAMAGE:  For Insured Packages, report any damage or breakage of your merchandise upon receipt to the carrier immediately. You MUST retain all packaging material for the carrier's inspection. Before replacement merchandise can be shipped to you, a damage claim must be filed with the USPS.  For uninsured packages, please email us.

SPECIAL NOTE:   Prices are subject to change without notice.  The price at the time you place your order is the price you will be charged.
